Lauren & Daniel | The Hall Brunswick Wedding Film
‘Jess absolutely killed it documenting our wedding day, she managed to capture our style completely and edited our day into the perfect little snapshot!’
Lauren and Daniel celebrated their bold, non-traditional wedding at The Hall Brunswick in Melbourne, Victoria. Set in the heart of Brunswick, their day was creative, unapologetically punky, and full of personality, making it a natural fit for a documentary-style wedding film that embraces spontaneity, character, and modern storytelling.
The Venue
Located in Brunswick, The Hall Brunswick is a contemporary venue with an urban edge that suited Lauren and Daniel's edgy style perfectly. Its flexible, open layout provided the ideal backdrop for a wedding that felt more like a celebration than a formal event, allowing the day to unfold organically from ceremony to a high-energy reception.
The Couple
Lauren and Daniel approached their wedding with confidence and individuality. Their connection is grounded and expressive, and they brought a strong sense of self to every part of the day. Nothing felt forced or traditional, just a celebration that reflected who they are and how they move through the world together.
The Wedding
Their wedding was bold, punk-inspired, and refreshingly unconventional. From thoughtful styling details to a lively reception atmosphere, the day was built around fun, expression, and community. The celebration carried a strong sense of momentum, with guests fully immersed in the experience, creating an energetic and inclusive atmosphere that lasted well into the night.
The Video
Lauren and Daniel's film was the first time I leaned fully into a punk-inspired, upbeat editing style, and I wanted to have fun with it. while staying true to my storytelling approach, I introduced heavier edits to amplify the grungy, alternative feel of the day. Drawing inspiration from punk magazines and mixed-media cut-outs, I created a playful section of the film featuring hand-drawn illustrations and bold text that echoes the words being spoken, from hearts and crowns to symbolic imagery that reflected their connection. To push it even further, I designed custom punk-style patches and built them into the edit as transitions, allowing the film to flow seamlessly back into the story. The result is a wedding highlight film that feels bold, creative, and unmistakably their, capturing not just how the day looked, but how it felt.
